First child born at 11:59pm on Feb 28th
at 12:00 am, it is now March 1st
At 12:01 am, the plane crosses the international date line
so now it is March 2nd
at 12:02 am, child is born
All this happens in a non-leap year
but the birthdays in question are being celebrated in a leap year
Importantly, amongst twins, the child born later is considered ‘older’
