Golf Tally Puzzle

Golf Tally Puzzle

Three friends played golf together regularly all season. At the end of the season they tallied up their scores and compared them to see who had done the best overall. As a result, a heated discussion broke out as to who really did do the best.

David pointed out that he had finished ahead of Robert more often than he had finished behind him.
Robert countered that he had finished ahead of Bailey more often than he had finished behind him.
Bailey claimed that he had finished ahead of David more often than he had finished behind him.

All of the statements are true, how could this be?

    I dont know what u mean by a SEASON.Here i will suppose that they played 18 times,and results were like this
    1st=david,,2nd=robert and 3rd= bailey …….this happenned 5 times out of 18

    1st=robert,,2nd=bailey and 3rd= david….this happenned 8 times out of 18

    It doesn't really matter how long the season was. It only matters that the number of games played can be divided by 3. Each of them finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd an equal amount of times. They all ended the season tied for first.
